Status Updates
SEPTEMBER 18, 2024: A Public Visioning Open House brought together members of the community to establish a vision and guiding principles for the future.
AUGUST 12, 2024: The first Advisory Committee Meeting was held at City Hall. AUGUST 3, 2024: During the annual Highland Fling, the general plan update endeavor was advertised as part of the Planning Commission and City Council's booth. Engagement posters and flyers were used to gather and share information. JUNE 4, 2024: The planning team conducted a comprehensive field trip led by City Staff and Leadership, visiting prominent locations and key areas throughout Highland to gain valuable insights for the general plan update. MAY 8, 2024: Public input boards were shared at the annual Highland City Open House in conjunction with the launch of the project website and Social Pinpoint engagement map. APRIL 23, 2024: The planning team met with the Planning Commission and City Council to discuss big picture goals for the general plan update. The planning team is gathering data and analyzing existing conditions in preparation for upcoming public engagement opportunities. |
